The Hatchimal – a multicoloured robot that hatches out of an egg – became the popular present for kids across the UK this Christmas.
But the toy may not be as innocent as people thought after owners complained their Hatchimal has been throwing curse words at them.
Owners of the robots have been posting videos of them online apparently saying “f*** off” and “f*** me”.
“I’m pretty sure it says ‘f*** me’”
Nick Galego, who bought one of the toys for his six-year-old son, told CTV Vancouver Island he is “pretty sure it says ‘f*** me'”.
He added that if his son was a bit older he would have been “offended about it”.
But the makers of Hatchimals – Spin Master toys – claim the robots only make random sounds and any similarity to swear words is totally unintentional.

Anne Yourt, a spokeswoman for the company, said: “We can assure you that the Hatchimal is not saying anything inappropriate.”
The company has also faced criticism from angry Hatchimal-owners who claim their robotic pets haven’t hatched.
Daily Star Online has contacted Spin Master for comment.
