The former England legend, 49, claimed he suffered a fractured skull and had to have 11 stitches in and on his eyelid after an incident at the plush Ace Hotel in Shoreditch.
His arm is also said to be “cut to bits” following the assault on December 27.
But the 49-year-old – who has battled with alcoholism for years – revealed he was “ok”.

He tweeted: “Hi afternoon ok I jumped off a few guys don’t know y plus I love you’s all & all love me the police have said there caught on camera I’m ok.”
Gazza later added: “I’ve been2hospital I’ve a fractured scull I’ve 11 stitches in&on my eye lid plus my arm cut to bits where they threw me down the stairs.”
Bystanders described how Gazza was in a “sad state”.

Cops were alerted to the “disturbance” involving the footie ace at around 6pm and a short time later they returned after reports of an assault, the Mirror reported.
Gazza’s spokesman Terry Baker told the newspaper the 49-year-old was rushed to hospital with a head wound.
A police spokesman confirmed: “Police were called at 18:05hrs on Tuesday, 27 December to reports of a disturbance at a hotel on Shoreditch High Street, E1.
“Officers were called a short time later to reports of a man assaulted at the same location.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. A 49-year-old man was found suffering from a head injury.
“The man has been taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
