The Queen will wait until the morning to decide whether she will feel well enough to attend a New Year’s Day church service.
She is due to go to the service at Sandringham but is still suffering the heavy cold that delayed the start of her Christmas break.
Both she and the Duke of Edinburgh had been expected to take the train as usual to Norfolk before Christmas.
But after falling ill, the royals made a last-minute decision to leave Buckingham Palace a day later and by helicopter.
The Queen then missed her traditional Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church with her family, but Prince Philip was able to attend.
She is thought to be recovering and out of bed but a decision on tomorrow’s ceremony will not be made until the morning.
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said: “She is still recovering from a heavy cold.”
