Hollywood mourns death of Debbie Reynolds
Debbie Reynolds was unsinkable, like the heroine of one of her films, Molly Brown. But perhaps the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, actress Carrie Fisher, was too much. Reynolds, 84, died on Wednesday, a day after her daughter’s death at age 60. Family members, friends and fans across the country are mourning the loss of the Oscar-nominated actress. She’s remembered for her iconic role in the musical Singin’ in the Rain, but also for more recent, supporting parts like in the Disney Channel movie, Halloweentown.
Blizzard to bury New England
A powerful winter storm will unleash heavy, wet snow and howling winds across portions of New England from late Thursday through midday Friday, with blizzard conditions possible in some areas. Much of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine should see a foot of snow, with nearly two feet expected in some spots, the National Weather Service said. “This looks to be a high-impact storm with power outages and significant drifting issues likely,” the weather service warned. The storm will cause “extensive travel disruptions” Thursday and Friday, AccuWeather said.
Craig Sager-themed pins benefiting foundation to go on sale
A collection of Craig Sager-themed pins will go on sale Thursday at Foot Locker, with all net proceeds benefiting the SagerStrong Foundation. “Each of the pins reflects Craig’s vivacious personality, unstoppable spirit and passion for life,” Craig’s widow Stacy said in a statement. “They are a fitting tribute to his memory and I know that Craig would want nothing more than to find a cure for cancer.” The three-pin collection features a colorful, Sager-style suit, a microphone and the SAGERSTRONG word mark. It will retail for $25 and be available at nearly 300 Foot Locker stores in New York, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia.
German police face decision on suspected Berlin attack accomplice
German police have until Thursday evening to decide whether to seek a formal arrest warrant for a suspected accomplice detained in connection with the deadly Berlin truck attack. Federal prosecutors said the man is a 40-year-old Tunisian national. He was not named. Anis Amri, 24, the main suspect in the attack at a Christmas market that killed 12 people and injured dozens more on Dec. 19, was shot dead by Italian police after a Europe-wide manhunt. Amri, also a Tunisian national, was a failed asylum seeker who was due to be deported from Germany. He was set free after a paperwork delay.

The program’s first bowl game since 2007 means even more to some of the fans who stuck with the program through all the losses. Here are some things to watch when the Buffaloes and Cowboys play.
